If you publish sponsored or gifted content, disclose it
UK advertising rules apply to influencer and founder content the same way they apply to traditional ads. If your content is paid for, gifted, or otherwise commercially connected to a brand, it must be obviously identifiable as advertising — regardless of the platform or format. This applies even when you only received free products or other benefits rather than a fee.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) publishes detailed guidance on how and when to disclose: read the ASA influencer guidance — read it before publishing sponsored content, and when in doubt, disclose.
